Gisborne Business and Professional Women is a club of like-minded women who meet once a month at The Forces Cafe for a networking dinner and speaker presentation.
WHAT WE DO
Our vision is to achieve a just and equal status for women in all levels and areas of society where decisions are taken in true partnership with men, based on a mutual respect, for a more balanced and peaceful world.
ADVOCACY
Advocacy is given high priority in our federation and there is encouragement for all members to participate in club discussions which lead to the forming of resolutions, to the consideration of resolutions and to the provision of background material for the many submissions that BPW NZ makes.
NETWORKING
BPW connects and empowers women who aspire to do more. Our membership includes women in a variety of organisations – from small and medium sized businesses through to large corporations and from the public and non-profit sectors, as well as women no longer in paid work, influential women leaders, young career women and savvy entrepreneurs running their own show.
LEADERSHIP
We encourage our members to take advantage of the leadership opportunities in our clubs as well as nationally and internationally. BPW NZ also provides support and skill development for women seeking leadership positions in the workplace and our communities.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our members develop self-confidence and gain encouragement and inspiration in a safe environment. This happens through a structured personal and professional development programme – Keys to Achievement – as well as via peer-to-peer mentoring, and through guest speakers and panels at regional and national events.
